I am a multipotentialist, someone with knowledge and experience in various fields and with a great passion for understanding, designing and improving systems and organizations. Innovations can often be found on the border areas between different disciplines. I can quickly immerse myself in different fields, see the connections between them and come up with creative innovations from an integrated perspective.

I was born in A Coruña, Spain, graduated as an Industrial Engineer from Escuela Universitaria de Ingeniería Técnica Industrial de Éibar (Spain), and later studied an MSc in Business Administration at Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands). After working in the telecommunications industry as a product manager and business consultant, I decided to switch to the medical devices industry and studied MSc Biomedical Engineering (BME) at TU Delft. The reason for this switch was my intention to comply with an earlier dream of studying medicine and my interest for science and technology.

As part of my Master Bio-Medical Engineering (TU Delft 2016), I took additional courses in medical imaging, radiological health physics, nanotechnology, nanomedicine and simulation methods.  My master thesis is in the area of nanotechnology.

Besides my interest for science, technology and the working of the human body and the nature I like to meet people from different cultures. That's why I have learned a few languages. The most recent of them is Chinese (which I don't manage yet at a fluent level). I specially like Chinese because it's writing is totally separated from the speech. Although there are so many different spoken languages in China all the Chinese people can communicate with each other in writing.

Before I switched to the medical devices sector I have been working many years in the telecommunications and IT. I fulfilled different jobs as product manager, management consultant, business consultant, and sales manager.  Therefore I am used to work with both external customers as well as different internal departments. My work experience from a different sector as well as my life experience can be valuable for the health care as I can bring diversity and new perspectives from a different area.

Due to the fact that I have a broad interest and enjoy interacting with people, I can communicate at all levels and with all kinds of people, no matter their background or culture.

I feel best in situations where there is a lack of standardised knowledge to take decisions, plan and take actions regarding the development, innovation and market introduction of new services.

I use an incremental approach based on the acquisition and sharing of knowledge, formulating and validating hypotheses and taking small steps to achieve the final objective.

I am interested in working with start-ups and established companies that wish to innovate their business, processes, technology and IT systems. My expertise is in product design from idea to product launch, integrated feasibility studies, technology assessment, business cases and business planning.
